Explosion Proof (XP) Enclosures

Stolar offers MSHA-certified steel XP enclosures for a variety of uses in hazardous environments. Our easy-to-mount enclosures are designed in-house to exacting standards and include flame-path surfaces where required. Several different sizes and shapes have been designed. Our XP enclosures are designed with configurable push-button switches and some models have polycarbonate lenses.

Explosion Proof Enclosure Model HPU-3001

Description:
Two-piece, round, explosion proof enclosure with a 1″ thick steel cover plate. This enclosure is specifically designed to mount and protect our power generator. It can also serve to shield other electronics which will fit to internal dimensions.

Enclosure features:
The two-piece enclosure has the single (1) entry port on the cover plate. Also, the MSHA approved flame path is located on the cover plate side. This cylindrical explosion proof enclosure also comes with radial mounting brackets attached.

Explosion Proof Enclosure Model HBU-3002

Description:
Rectangular explosion proof enclosure with 5/8″ thick steel cover plate and single (1) entry gland located on bottom wall of enclosure. Entry cable port is a welded 1 1/8″ inside diameter threaded gland for 1 1/8″ outside diameter brass nut which holds the removable brass hose tube. Explosion proof is designed to shield our square lithium batteries.

Enclosure features:
Explosion proof box can be mounted vertically or horizontally into custom built base to support enclosure. Entry glands can be modified to needs (add or subtract).

Description:
Square explosion proof enclosure with 1/4″ thick steel plate and single (1) entry cable gland located on one side of the wall. Explosion proof box is designed to store and protect electronics.

Enclosure features:
Two piece explosion proof enclosure with MSHA approved flame path. There is no need for an O-ring for this specific box. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally with its two (2) existing mounting tabs located on lower sides of enclosure.

Our enclosure was designed to be installed on the outer surface of cutter drum between bit picks of underground continuous miner or shearer.  Lower plate welds into drum and upper plate bolts to lower plate.

Description:
Rectangular explosion proof enclosure with polycarbonate lens and retainer  to shield electronics.  It comes with (4) four entries on enclosure walls for removable tube-hose glands sizes 1/2″ or 5/8″ diameter (straight or bent 90º).  Entries for glands can be modified to needs (add or subtract).

Enclosure features:
Dual mounting tabs on top and bottom of enclosure.  Explosion proof box can mount vertically or horizontally on a surface with mounting brackets with an area of 11″ x 11″.
